Bowen therapy

Bowen therapy addresses the body as a whole with the application of gentle pressure on muscles, tendons and fascia. The maneuvers used works to send a message to the main centers of the body to relax and rebalance the autonomic nervous system thus helping in conditions such as chronic pain and inflammation, digestive concerns, respiratory issues and misalignments. It is the imbalance of the nervous system that can lead us to become hypersensitive to some factors such as pain, temperatures, and emotions.

The treatments are done during three sessions split one week apart, after which the patient can come in for 1 or 2 more sessions two weeks apart and/or when the need arises. During each session, a series of maneuvers are done, which involves the use of gentle pressure applied to certain areas of the body. In between the sets of maneuvers, the therapist will pause of a minimum of 2 minutes and leave the room to allow the body to gently and naturally begin its realignment. You can expect to feel a sense of deep relaxation during and after the maneuvers as the autonomic nervous system starts to balance itself naturally.
